Ladies attend Walking Bus event

girlsandtommytGillingham Ladies enjoyed a successfull Saturday morning in the glorious sun in the grounds of Rochester Castle, as they teamed up with parent club sponsers KRBS.Com (Kent Reliance Buiding Society) to run a penalty shoot out for children of all ages who take part in the KM Walking bus charity project in Kent, www.kentwalkingbus.org.

The event organised by Kent Messanger Walking Bus was a Teddy Bears picnic, where all the children had to bring there Teddies with them.

On behalf of Gills Ladies, Captain Becky Lyon, Anna Broad, Les Kay, Terri Reynolds, Kirsty Goodall, Laura Halfpenny & Jessica Nunn with Director of Football Martin Andrews attended and was met by a famous face from Gillingham F.C, in the large form of Tommy Trewblu.

The girls themselves got heavily involved with the events with Becky & Laura doing some Karate and to the delight of there new found fans entered the egg & spoon race.

The day could not of gone better, but it did, as they discovered an 8 year old girl from Rochester with great technique and a great love of football who had recently been on trials with Arsenal Centre Of Excellence, who now on the back of that visit to Rochester Castle has now been signed up to join Gillingham’s Centre Of Excellence.
