- The Brave Team before entering the Tunnels
Gillingham Ladies teamed up with main club sponsors KRBS.COM (Kent Reliance Building Society) for a night at the very haunted tunnels of Fort Amherst in Chatham, Kent.
However they did this to help raise the profile of a young lad for Gillingham. Keiran is just 13 and when he was just 3 months old he was diagnosed being Blind and has a rare condition called “Septo Optic Dysplasia”.
Recently his Mum and Dad have discovered a company in China that have been woring on a therapy using Stem Cells that can help repair his optic nerves. However they need to raise £35,000 to go over and have the operation. For more details visit

- Kirsty Goodall & Becky Lyon in one of the Tunnels
Gills Ladies Club Captain, Becky Lyon, Striker Kirsty Goodall along with Emma Andrews (Director Of Football Martin Andrews wife) entered the tunnels with KRBS Linda O’Mallan her son Ryan O’Mallan and Keiran’s nan Linda.
Fort Amherst was built around 1756 and is regarded as very haunted.
The Team entered the Tunnels at 9:30pm and was not let out till 01:00am. All they had with them was torches, when the torches where off it was pitch black. So was it haunted ? The girls heard several screams and unexplainable noises and a photo that was taken looked like it contain Orbs ??? To which we will put onto this site…
Gillingham Ladies are fully backing this fantastic campaign, and they wish by this article to invite either Arsenal or Chelsea, the two teams that have a very strong fan base in the Medway Towns to send a team down to Gillingham Ladies home ground at Lordswood F.C to have a charity match. Should either teams representatives read any of these articles and are in a postion to send a team down please contact us direct.
