Daggers midweek match details.

Gillingham Ladies can confirm that the league match against promoted side Dagenham & Redbridge is to be played under the floodlights at there parent clubs venue Victoria Road. 

The match has been confirmed as Wednesday 2nd September,with an 8pm Kick Off.

Daggers won promotion last season and had a tough tie on there return to the Combination league when they lost 8-1 away to Norwich City. 

One of the rules of the South East Combination league is that one set of ties is due to be played midweek.

Last season the Gills faced Tottenham midweek, the rule itself is controversial as some teams do not have flood lit grounds. This is where Gills almost suffered last season as Woodstock Park had no flood lights and Gills failed to find a venue for the early part of the season with floodlights, fortuantly Spurs switched the tie.  For teams without floodlights its an additional cost, for that game including officials etc it cost £400 to stage the match.

For the return game, thats when Gills played at Lordswood and gave Martin Andrews the inspiration to bring them to the ground full time.
