Ladies Euro 2009 Final – England v Germany Thursday Live on BBC2

With Gillingham Ladies flying high this season, womens football hopefully will be given a major boost this week after England Ladies made it through to the Euro 09 Final, against five times champions Germany.

This will be England Ladies’ first final since 1984 when they lost over two legs to Sweden.

This is also on the back of England Ladies U19′s winning the European Championship just a couple of months ago.

England have come through a tricky group which included  Italy, Russia and Sweden and they knocked out hosts Finland in the quarter final. On Sunday a dramatic extra time goal against Holland sent them to the final.

The Final is screened live on BBC 2, Coverage starts at 4:45pm and Kick Off is at 5pm.
