Gillingham v Ipswich Town – Match Day Preview

welwyn1Gillingham Ladies hope to get back onto winning ways this Sunday as they host Ipswich Town.

Ipswich who came down from the Premiership last season will be another tough test for the Gills, as they are coming down on the back of a 4-1 win over neighbours Ebbsfleet United.

TEAM NEWS
Ian Varley has a nice selection headache this weekend with only Vicky Ashton-Jones ruled out through injury.

Laura Halfpenny returns for selection after missing the last two games (Holiday) Deanna Cooper returns after winning the Cricket Championship with Kent. Natalie Crinean is also fit to start.

With the Reserves not having a match due to there opponents Bredhurst folding, could some of them of caught Varley’s eye during training.

NB: Gillingham season ticket holders can enter for free by showing their ticket at the turnstiles. Gillingham Centre Of Excellence girls can also enter free as long as they are wearing their Gills tracksuit.

50/50 Tickets
Support Gills Ladies and purchase 50/50 ticket for just £1… The draw is done at Half Time with the kitty split. Last week the pot was £30, so for just £1 Entry a lucky person walked away £14 better off.

This is great support for the Gills as it cost’s £25 for each official.

MATCHDAY PROGRAMMES

We ran a trial last season to which was successfull, so the programs are back, again full colour with Interviews and action photos, these will be availble for both first team and reserve team games and priced at £2.00 each. You can buy them on the turnstile or around the ground.

Food and Drink at Lordswood

In the ground why not visit the kiosk and buy yourself a burger !!!! Hot and cold drinks are also available along with Chocolates and sweets, the Kiosk is a franchise and hopefully will do well for them to open up every game.

Meanwhile after the game why not pop into the Social Club for a pint to discuss the game, all though the club is Members only, everyone who enters our game will have a ticket, this ticket will gain you access to the bar.

Parking

Depending on other events in the social club parking can be limited, so you may have to park on the road outside the complex.

From M25 take Junction 2 (A2)

Straight down A2 / Continue onto the M2,

Go over Medway Bridge (Big Bridge your know your on it)

Exit onto Slip Road (M2 J3)

At the roundabout, take the first exit.

Turn right onto Walderslade Woods

At the roundabout, go straight over continuing on Walderslade Woods.

Next round about take 2nd Exit heading down Lordswood Lane.

Follow this right to the end to another roundabout.

Take 3rd Exit heading down Albemarle Road.

Bear left onto North Dane Way

Then take the first right, your then be in a car park with the Social Club and we are straight ahead.
