Ladies move clear at the top

Gills Ladies moved clear at the top of the South East Combination Women’s League after a battling 1-0 victory over Enfield this afternoon.

The result is all the more pleasing for the Ladies as title rivals Norwich lost 2-0 to Ebbsfleet.

It was goals galore for the reserve team as they ran out 9-1 winners over Crockenhill to stay top of Division One East, and unbeaten still in the League this season.

The goalscorers this afternoon were Kylie Overton with a hat trick, Megan Cavell and Kirsty Goodall with two goals each and one a piece for Chloe Jamieson and Gemma Ridge.

Title rivals Ashford dropped 2 points this afternoon as they faced the other title chasing team Milton & Fulston in a double header. It was honours even in the first game as they drew 1-1, in the 2nd game Ashford edged it winning 2-1.

Gills face Ashford next week.
