Tonights game is off, again!
Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on March 30, 2010
The rescheduled local derby against Ebbsfleet has once again fallen victim to the weather.
After Thurdsday nights match was a wash out, the weather picked up and on Sunday it was lovely weather for football.
However this typically turned yesterday, a pitch inspection last night around 5:30pm showed that if it was last night it would just about be playable. But with the rain continuing to fall throughout the night and early this morning plus with the forecast not looking good. Sensibly the game has been called off earlier so that players can continue to work instead of taking time off.
The match will be rescheulded in two or three weeks time, as Gills play Millwall in the Kent Cup final next Thursday night. Its also a welcome relief to Ebbsfleet who can now have time to get a number of injured players back fully fit as currently have a horrendous injury list.
This will be their last game of the season and they are on a high having won three out of three and more importantly handed their neighbours a massive title boost by beating Norwich City 2-0.
Note to players that training will be tonight at 8pm – Sittingbourne Community College
