Reserve team boss Aaron Perry was pleased to see his side round off their pre-season with an emphatic victory on Sunday morning.
He watched his side pick a part Parkwood Ladies and come away with a very healthy 8-1 victory thanks to some well taken finishes.
Giving his thoughts after the match, he said: “Yes it was pleasing for me to win by such a high margin but to be fair it was more about the performance today than the result.
“It was pleasing for me to see a number of different scorers on the score sheet as the way we set up we are always going to create chances and score goals.”
With a number of other players scoring it pleased the coaching staff as it takes the pressure off of the strikers to get the goals during a game.
He added: “When other areas of the team score it is a great help towards what the strikers have to offer us during a game.
“If we can keep that up all season we will definitely be competing for promotion when we get down to the business end of the season.”
With pre-season now complete Aaron and Matt now have had a chance to assess all their squad ahead of the new season.
They have a clearer idea going into next weekend just who will be starting on what position and the formation that they will play.
He added: “Yes Matt and I have now looked at a few different ideas and a few players in different positions.
“We feel that we have a lot to offer in this League this season. We just can’t wait for the season to get going now and get real games underway.”
During seven games the Reserves scored an impressive 32 goals and conceded just four goals which has pleased the manager.
He said: “To be honest with you I am disappointed at the goals that we have let in, as one was a penalty, one was an own goal and two goals from open play. Then again I am delighted by the amount of goals that we have scored, and we will be full confidence going into next week.”
