Weekend Preview:- Can Gills topple early Pace setters

Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on September 3, 2010

The season finally gets up and running properly on Sunday as the reserves finally kick start their debut in the Premiership Southern Reserve Division 2 League with an away trip to Colchester, whilst the first team entertain early pace setters Portsmouth at Lordswood F.C

The First team are currently in fine form with an opening day 1-0 win away to title favourites Charlton Athletic, and an outstanding come back against National League title contenders Millwall.

The First team have only one injury concern and that is Captain Becky Lyon, she will almost certainly not be 100% fit enough to start and Ian Varley will look for her to hopefully be available to be on the bench.

RESERVES

Aaron Perry finally gets to take control in a competitive match as they travel to Colchester United for their opening game of the season, after what was seemingly the longest Pre-season ever, having started back in July. The Reserves are hungry to get going.

Aaron has a full squad to select from, and with the return of several injured players back to training competition for places has never been stronger.
