Perry: We missed so many chances

Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on September 29, 2010

Aaron Perry was disappointed to see his side lose on Sunday in the first round of the League Cup but he wasn’t too disheartened.

It was the first defeat that his side has suffered this season but their main focus was always going to be the League.

Speaking after the game, he said: “It is always disappointing to lose any game that we go into to be honest with you.

“However for me and the girls this season the main aim is to definitely get promoted from the League, which I believe we are well on course for.”

Unusually for the Reserves on Sunday they missed a number of chances that on another day they would have otherwise taken.

He added: “We missed so many chances on Sunday and all pre-season and the first three League games we have score for fun.

“Against Yeovil it was just one of those days I am afraid but we are big enough to pick ourselves up and carry on the way we have been playing.”

It is back to the training ground this week to prepare for a tough game against Millwall on Sunday and the manager says it is back to the hard work.

He said: “This week won’t be any different the girls will continue to work hard and get back on course with three points on Sunday.

“I must say however that we have learnt a lot from our first away trip about preparation and approach to the game, so it has been a good learning curve.”
