Perry: I am glad that we have gone through

Manager Aaron Perry was delighted to see his side move into the Kent Plate semi-finals even if the performance wasn’t the best.
His side went into a 3-1 lead before being pegged back in the closing stages to make it a nervy finish for the manager and the players.
Talking after the game, he said: “If I am honest I am just glad that we have gone through, I thought we were poor on the day and the conditions didn’t help.
“Generally we weren’t at it as a group of players, it is disappointing but you can’t play well every week and we are pleased to be through.”
The Reserves went 3-1 up and looked to be cruising the game and it may have been that they took their foot off the accelerator in the second half when the conceded late on.
“We went behind to a sloppy goal but to be fair to the girls they came back well and we scored two great goal and one we had a bit of luck on” added Aaron.
“At 3-1 up at half time I thought the game was over, but it maybe came at the wrong time for us. We came out in the second half very slow and lethargic.
“I think we thought that the job was done at half time, and we emphasised at half time that it wasn’t definitely done. In the second half we didn’t go out and continue as we had done at the end of the first half.”
The Reserves are now in the semi final of the Kent Plate and Aaron is pleased to see his side challenging for silverware.
He said: “A win is a win and we are pleased that we are through and the result is a good one, and we can’t play well ever week.
“We are well aware of that and we are delighted to be through to the next round and that is especially pleasing for the girls.”
