Jeffery: I was really pleased
Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on January 25, 2011
Laura Jeffery scored her third goal for Gills Ladies and had mixed emotions having given her side the lead but see them slip to a narrow defeat.
Laura worked tirelessly up front and got her rewards in the 49th minute when she coolly dispatched the rebound from Natalie Crinean’s initial shot.
Talking after the game Laura said: “I was really pleased with my goal today, as a striker it is always nice to get on the score sheet.
“It would have been great if we had been able to hold it and go on to win but it is a positive that I can take from the game.
“I am hoping it is just the start of many more goals to come. The more we score the more likely we are to win after all.”
Laura is just starting to get a regular run in the side alongside Natalie Crinean up front and the young striker is grateful to be back playing football again.
She added: “Getting back from the injury has been a long road. There have been ups and downs but the support from everyone has been great and it is good to be playing again. I am feeling good about it all.”
Despite losing the game the striker is confident that the Ladies can get back on the winning run again next week against QPR.
She said: “Losing games for any team isn’t ideal but we have to pick ourselves up and go in to next week with the right attitude and correct it.
“We are a new team to this League and it takes time to find your feet but with any game there are both positives and negatives to be taken from it.”

Indeed I agree weoeehlarthdly with sewing. I was actually taught by my father how to mend pants if I ever got a rip or sew on a button (mind you I’m a dude). I actually had to teach someone I was seeing how to sew a button back on her jacket.
