The Weekend Preview: The Ladies hit the road

Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on February 25, 2011

The first team face one of their longest trips of the season as they head to Wales to take on Cardiff City.

Their opponents this weekend Rusthall are currently 5th in the South East Counties League Division One West, thanks to a 5-0 win over Haywards Heath and will represent a tough challenge for the Ladies.

It has been a while since the Reserves have played a competitive game. In that game they beat rivals Millwall 3-1 to secure promotion. A week later and they secured the title without kicking a football.

Despite not playing a game for a while the squad have been training hard to prepare for their semi-final clash.

The Reserves have been in great goal scoring form in recent games and also boast an impressive defensive record which will make them hard to break down.
