Aaron Perry was delighted too see his side progress into the Kent Plate final after a hard fought win over Rusthall on Sunday.
It means they now have the chance of completing a double having already secured the Reserves Southern Division Title.
Talking after the final whistle, he said: “It was a game in the first half that we made hard work of to be fair.
“For the first 45 minutes they worked hard, and they got in our faces and didn’t let us play. 5-0 is probably a little bit harsh on them but I think our quality showed in the end.”
“There was always a chance that we could lose, but we gave them the respect that they deserved. We watched them twice and always knew that the game was going to be difficult, we are pleased to get through the game and win 5-0.
“In the second half the Reserves scored two goals that would grace any goal of the season charts through Chabs and Ky Overton.”
He added:”They were two good goals and they went in at crucial times and kept our momentum going.
“I am really pleased with the two goals they were two great strikes with great technique and after the first 45 minutes I was delighted to see them go in.”
With Jessica Nunn injured Les Kay and then Lauren Harris went in goal and kept yet another clean sheet for the Reserves.
He said: “We didn’t have a keeper and Les had to go in goal and she did well when called upon.
“Credit to Lauren she volunteered to go in goal when we changed the shape and put Les back in the centre of midfield. It is another clean sheet and I am happy with that.”
With Long Lane in the final of the Kent Plate the Reserves have the chance to make it a double and Aaron is determined to achieve that feat.
He added: “we have the chance at the double and we are happy that we have already won the League.
“We have Long Lane in the final that beat Aylesford; we are looking forward to the final and will give it the preparation that it deserves.”
