The Weekend Preview: Back to the League

Both Ladies teams find themselves in League action this weekend as the season begins to come to its conclusions.

The firsts face a long away journey to Portsmouth Ladies who were victorious over West Ham United Ladies last weekend.

Whilst the Reserves play their final League game of the season as they host Barnet and bring to a close in front of their home fans yet another successful season.

The Firsts

Last time out the Firsts fell to a two-nil defeat at home to Colchester as they look to accrue enough points to stay in the Southern Premiership.

Each game is tough in this division but Ian Varley’s side have more than enough quality to hold their own and stay in the division for a second season.

They can take strength and hope from their recent away victory over Cardiff City Ladies where they came from behind to win 2-1 and a repeat of that this weekend will surely move them up the League.

The Reserves

The Reserves play their final League game of the season on Sunday as they play host to Barnet Ladies at Martin Grove.

They have won the League and will be looking to round the season off in style as they play in front of their home fans for the last time before the Women’s Plate final.

With no game last weekend Aaron Perry took his side to local team Meridian Girls for a friendly to ensure that his side keep match sharp.
