Perry Previews Cup Final

Aaron Perry leads his side out in search of glory in the Women’s Plate final tomorrow evening when they take on Long Lane.
The Reserves have the chance of getting their name on the inaugural women’s plate on Thursday evening and Aaron has prepared his side just as he would any game of the season.
Speaking at training ahead of the tie, he said: “It has been a long time since we won the semi-final to make the final and to be fair our preparation has been a bit difficult.
“In the fact that we have had such a long time between breaks of games it has been hard, but it has finally arrived and now that it has I can’t wait really.”
Aaron and his assistant Matt have been doing their homework on their opponents and will give them the respect they deserve as they have earned the right to be in the final as well.
He added: “The preparation is underway and we will treat it no differently to the way we would treat any other game to be honest with you.
“We haven’t played them this season but we will give them the respect that they deserve as they are in the final and they have done well to get there.
“As for us our preparation will be spot on and probably better than any other game, we want to make sure any fine tuning are done in training and I think we are ready to go.”
Should the Reserves win they will complete a historic first double and whilst it would be an achievement, the manager is focusing on the game in hand.
He said: “We have a great opportunity, and to be fair I dont think we are going to get a better one than what we have with the players that we have got here. We have a fantastic squad and we will be full strength for the final and we have no injury worries or concerns. This is our chance and it is a big night for the girls on Thursday.
“We have the added pressure of being the favourites and if you win 5-0 then people say you were expected to win it and if we get beat then everyone says we should have won. We understand that and it makes it a bit more difficult but as far as I am concerned we will make sure we are in the right frame of mind. There will be no slip ups on our behalf and we will make sure that everyones feet are firmly on the ground, from the coaching staff to the players. We will go there on Thursday night and do the job that we have done throughout the season.”
