The Midweek Preview: The Final Game
Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on April 25, 2011
The Ladies going into the game against West Ham on Wednesday evening knowing that their fate is still in their own hands.
The Gills are currently second bottom of the League and are three points clear of Yeovil and one point behind QPR who play their final game of the season on Tuesday evening.
They will know by the time they kick-off against the Hammers what they have to do if anything to ensure their surivial in the Southern Premiership, if not then they have to rely on the results of Yeovil and Brighton’s final games of the season depending on their own result.
* Following Charlton’s win over QPR on Tuesday evening, a point will be enough for the Ladies to stay up, they would finish above QPR on goal difference, and would be four clear of Yeovil before their final game of the season.*
In their last home game the Ladies took the lead though a Kim Dixson own goal with Danni Farmer challenging before a brace for Gemma Bryan and a strike at the right end for Kim Dixson saw the Addicks take home all three points.
West Ham Wednesday nights opponents ended a run of winless games when they got their own promotion ambitions back on track with a victory over Yeovil on Sunday afternoon.
Get along to Martin Grove on Wednesday evening and lend your support to the Ladies who will be giving it their all to go out and get three vital points.
