The Weekend Preview: Up for the Cup

It is Arsenal Ladies Reserves vs. Gills Ladies Reserves for the second time in two weeks.

This time it is a League Cup first round match that has seen the two sides drawn together again.

It couldn’t be a harder first round tie for the Ladies, with Arsenal sitting pretty at the top of the League and the Reserves currently bottom.

Team News

Once again the Reserves will have a fully fit squad to choose from as they head to Middlesex. Becky Lyon returns to the squad this weekend.

So far this Season

After the opening day humbling by Arsenal the Reserves have been on a decent run of form.

They drew at home to Bristol Academy Reserves in the first home game, before following that up with another 2-2 draw away at Charlton last weekend.

Arsenal Reserves have begun the season on fire with three wins from the three games that they have played. They beat the Gills 9-1 in the opening game of the season and they have gone on to beat Brighton 10-3 and Chelsea 2-0.
