The Weekend Preview: Back to the League

Published by Gillingham Ladies Media on November 26, 2011

It is back to League action for the Ladies this weekend following last week’s Kent Cup exploits.

Keynsham Ladies are the visitors to Chatham Town on Sunday afternoon as the Gills go in search of three points.

Team News

The only injury concern this weekend for manager Ian Varley is defender Sarah Jones. Sarah is currently beginning her rehab following a broken foot.

The Squad

Sarah Quantrill, Lauren Williams, Danielle Carlton, Laura East, Amy Taylor, Sian Cheedy, Deanna Cooper, Danni Farmer, Emma Tune, Katie Hardaker, Vicky Ashton-Jones, Natalie Crinean, Lauren Phillips, Bryony Smith, Leah Jones

So far this season

This season has been the best season ever for the Ladies with them taking 19 points in the League so far.

In their last League game they scored after just 37 seconds in a 1-0 win at home to Spurs. Natalie Crinean back heeled the ball into the back of the bet to finish a well worked team move.

Last weekend they beat London Corinthians in the Kent Cup first round 7-0.

Again Natalie Crinean was on target this time with a well struck hat trick. There were also goals for Lauren Phillips, Emma Tune, Katie Hardaker and Charlotte Abbott.

Keynsham on the other hand have had a bit of an up and down season so far and currently sit 8th and eight points off the Gills.

They come into the game off of a two-nil defeat in their last League game, with Portsmouth taking all three points away from the game.

The Venue

Chatham Town FC, Maidstone Road, Chatham

Kick off

2pm – please note spectators will be allowed into the ground from 1pm.

If you can’t make the game, there will be regular updates on the website from 1:30pm.
