The Reserves get their League Cup campaign underway in earnest this weekend.

They travel to local rivals Charlton Athletic Reserves for their first group game of the competition.

The group also includes Millwall with everyone playing each other and the top two qualifying for the knockout stages.

Team News

Becky Lyon has a fully fit squad to pick from on Sunday afternoon, with all players coming through Thursday training.

The Squad

Jess Nunn, Amy Merricks, Lou Jackson, Enya Lynch, Sammy Lester, Whitney Judd, Amy Russ, Liv McGregor, Kirsty Goodall, Alex Witham, Kylie Overton, Temi, Amy Taylor

So far this season

The Reserves have a very successful season under Becky Lyon, although they still have to wait for other results to see if they will be in Southern Division One next season.

The two teams finished all square in both league meetings with a 2-2 score line in both fixtures. They will both be hoping to not have a repeat of this on Sunday afternoon.

Charlton have had a rather up and down league campaign and are still battling to stay up for next season. They will also be looking to go all the way in the cup.

We’ve Met Before

The two sides have already met twice in the league campaign, and both games ended in a draw, and both the draws were 2-2.

Away from home in September, the Reserves came away with a point from Sparrows Lane following goals from Temi and Kylie Overton.

In the home game the Gills took the lead through a great strike from Alex Witham early doors before Stef Simmons equalised. Sam Rowland then put Charlton ahead before a late scrambled goal from Temi netted the reserves a share of the points.

The Venue

Charlton Training Ground, Sparrows Lane, New Eltham, London, SE9 2JR

Kick-off

2pm
