The Midweek Preview: Arsenal are in Town

Tomorrow night see’s the fiNAL friendly of the two scheduled big friendlies against WSL opposition.

Current WSL champions Arsenal Ladies are the visitors to Chatham Town.

The champions are using the game to build up match fitness ahead of the opening weekend of the WSL.

Arsenal are the most successful side in women’s football and the game will give Gills Ladies a great benchmark as to how far they have to go to make the WSL.

Ian Varley has a full squad available as everyone looks to showcase their talents against one of the top sides in the Country.

We’ve Met Before

The two sides have met just once and that came in a pre-season friendly last season. Arsenal finished the game with a 4-0 victory.

Their goals came through Kim Little who netted a brace and also through Jennifer Beattie and Gemma Davison. In truth the game was closer than the score line suggested with Arsenal only really gaining the upper hand in the second half.
